You know that uncontrollable tickle you get, when everything seems funny?
Your eyes beg for empathy as you look across the table but your friend just starts laughing with you.
Eventually everyone joins in, laughing totally out of control.
That’s one of my most favorite feelings in all the world!
I found a birthday card recently that encouraged
“sharing good food and loud laughter”
as a defining factor in relationship building and good memories.
What defines your fun memories?
I hope they include lots of laughter!
As you reflect back on the people that have come in and out of your life;
milestones celebrated, and memories shared,
what brings you the most joy?
Who are the people that made you laugh until you cried?
I hope you have people in your life like that today.
Maybe someone is waiting for you to be that person in their life.
If laughter is the best medicine, then friends are the prescription.
When I look back in time, I can honestly say that not all my memories are happy or even pleasant.
But, like a flower blooming in the midst of a barren desert there were days that joy burst through.
When my late husband was battling pancreatic cancer, a group of friends brought a “Tea Party” to my house
(almost an hour drive).
When they unpacked their baskets they also unpacked love and laughter for the afternoon .
I hope you have friends like that.
Unfortunately, lives change and people move, so we can’t always have our much needed lunch dates with that one person that actually “gets” us.
We can’t all remain best friends with our BFF from second grade.
But we can take careful note of who makes us laugh now,
who challenges us to be the best US we can be,
the people who are there when you cry,
and when you vent,
and help you pick up the pieces, dust you off & point you back in the right direction if you get off track.
Because studies show that we become like the people we surround ourselves with
I want to surround myself with joyful, passionate, world changing people!
I’ve heard that you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family –
What a double blessing it is then, when you have friends like sisters,
and sisters like friends.
I hope you have friends like that!
You don’t have to wait for a birthday to celebrate a good friendship,
Go and share some good food and lots of laughter with someone that is important in your life today.
Love,
Pazazdance
